As of this morning, Guardian Angel Cathedral's Mass Intention Book for Liturgical Year C (December 2024 through November 2025) is now full. We have no open Masses for your requests at this time.
Canon 948 prohibits "doubling up" on Masses. This means we cannot have two Mass intention requests for the same Mass.
For example, Mr. Jones has already scheduled a Mass Intention for the 10 AM Mass on August 6. Mrs. Smith would also like that time, and wants to have a Mass Intention at 10 AM on August 6. Church law prohibits that, and it also prohibits us from "bumping" someone out.
Mass Intention Book Reopens at 9 AM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025
The Mass Intention Book for the upcoming Liturgical Year that starts on Sunday, November 30, 2025, and ends on November 27, 2026. Please note that the Mass Intention Book follows the Liturgical Year, and not the Calendar Year.
What does this mean?
Guardian Angel Cathedral is no longer accepting Mass Intention requests for any date in the future. We will begin accepting requests for the new liturgical year in November.
When will you begin scheduling Mass Intentions again?
We will begin scheduling Mass Intentions for Liturgical Year A (December 2025 through November 2026) in early November.
Can I give you my dates for December 2025 through November 2026 now so you can hold them for me?
No. In the spirit of charity, one of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, we cannot do that. This is to ensure equal access for all.
Is there any way around this?
No. The Church's Code of Canon Law is very clear on these matters. We encourage you to please be patient and wait until November.
