The Church anticipates and encourages that a Catholic’s funeral be celebrated in his or her parish church, the place of community and faith.
Guardian Angel Cathedral is honored to welcome funeral liturgies in very particular circumstances:
For those who share an established connection with the Cathedral
ie, Parishioner/volunteer, Baptized at the Cathedral, Married at the Cathedral, Confirmed at the Cathedral
For civic or Church dignitaries
Other extraordinary situations
Funeral directors are asked to contact the Cathedral’s Executive Director when such circumstances apply, before scheduling any arrangements with the family.
Funeral Times
Guardian Angel Cathedral is the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Las Vegas, serving all of southern Nevada and two suffragan dioceses (the Diocese of Reno and the Diocese of Salt Lake City). In practice, the Cathedral serves all Catholics in Nevada and Utah, which creates unique scheduling requirements not present in other parishes.
Funerals for those with an established connection to the Cathedral and other extraordinary situations are celebrated on Mondays through Wednesdays at either 10:15 AM or 1:15 PM and Saturday mornings at 11:30 AM.
Due to our regular Confession and Mass schedule, we are unable to accommodate any other times.
